**Explaining the work.** A lot of reviews describe being walked through why the slab needed grinding, or why a particular primer was going down. Most people want to understand what they are paying for. Explaining it costs nothing and changes how the whole job feels.

## The Work Behind the Number

## What We Are Working On

Growth for a trade business is mostly a scheduling problem. More demand without more capacity means longer lead times, and longer lead times are how quality slips, because crews start rushing prep to catch up.

So the focus heading through 2026 is unglamorous: keeping lead times inside one to two weeks for residential work, keeping the same people on the tools rather than subcontracting out, and holding the standard on preparation even when the calendar is full.

We are also spending more time on the consultation itself. Bringing physical flake samples out to the driveway, moisture-testing on the spot where the slab warrants it, and handing over an itemised written price rather than a verbal range. That front end is where most of the misunderstandings in this trade start, and fixing it there is cheaper than fixing it later.

## What We Have Learned From the Complaints

Ninety-two five-star reviews does not mean every job has been perfect. It means the problems got sorted. A few patterns have come out of the ones that did not go smoothly, and they have all changed how we work.

**Cure times need to be in writing.** Early on we gave walk-on and drive-on times verbally at handover, and people quite reasonably forgot which was which. A vehicle back on a floor too early is the one avoidable way to damage new work. Now everything goes on a printed sheet left on the bench.

**Colour looks different in daylight.** We had one homeowner who was unhappy with a flake blend that looked completely different in their garage than it had on our sample board indoors. Now the samples come outside, and we hold them at the open garage door in natural light before anyone commits.

**Clearing the garage takes longer than people expect.** Nearly every job that has run late started with a garage that was still half full at eight in the morning. We now send a reminder a few days before, and we are specific about what needs to be out and where the crew needs access.

**Moisture testing is not optional on new builds.** A green slab in a new subdivision can look identical to a fully cured one. Testing takes minutes and prevents the single most expensive failure mode in this trade.

None of that is dramatic. It is just the accumulation of small process changes that come from paying attention when something does not land right.
